Should you buy the new priced Kindle DX Graphite as a Christmas gift ?
Amazon is offering a 32% discount on Kindle DX Graphite, I don’t know if this deal stays long or will be terminated by the end of this Cyber Monday deals, but I think there are a lot of people will take this chance to buy this 32% Cyber Monday deal Kindle DX Graphite as a Christmas gift, the question is how could you know that you make a right decision ?

A comparison between Kindle DX Graphite, old White Kindle, and Kindle 4 Kindle touch :
Kindle DX Graphite is not the best deal you can get for 9.7 inch e-ink screen ebook reader, if you are focusing on best price, I think used white Kindle DX that comes with lower contrast and lower shade display is a better price deal, for used and refurbished White Kindle DX, 209 USD is the lowest price for a white Kindle DX (of course if may not fit as Christmas gifts, but if you are looking one for yourself, this is an interesting choice), it may heavier than Kindle DX Graphite, but with a 50 USD saved, you may want to check it out, but if what you are seeking is a Kindle DX Graphite, I think you should buy a new one, since the used price of Kindle DX Graphite is around 20 USD difference, I don’t think it is a good idea to buy a used item with this deal.
Compare with small Kindle, like Kindle 4 and Kindle Touch, in term of functions, I have to say these three Kindles are on the different approaches here, why Kindle 4 tries to be the simplest, smallest and cheapest Kindle that ever released, Kindle Touch is a top-of-the-line portable Kindle ever !, while Kindle DX Graphite is a big screen home use (not so good for mobility) but comes with superb screen size and superb contrast, and I think DXG is very good for college students, or academic related field person who need to look at graphics or spend a lot of time reading.
Should you buy it as a Christmas gift ? In my opinion, with the 32% Christmas gifts deals, I think Kindle DX Graphite is the best gift for any one who is in academic related fields, if your son or daughter will go to a college this year, Kindle DX is one of the best gift, and in my opinion, I also think that Kindle DX Graphite is a perfect Christmas gift for senior citizens, due to its font sizes and 9.7 inch screen, ( I have friend who is almost 60 and he loves Kindle DX so much, I try to give Kindle 4 to him, but he said it is too small for him).
