Both of these headsets come with the same price range, one of them is a true surround gaming headset and another one is a wireless gaming headset with a virtual surround, if you are looking for a gaming headset under 150 USD, what is the best choice, personally I preferred a true surround gaming headset like  Sharkoon X-Tatic,

I think it can give a good sound direction while with a virtual surround technology I can’t tell exactly where is the sound come from, that because with the traditional true surround gaming headset like Sharkoon X-Tatic comes with 4 speakers on each phone while X42 only offers one per phone and separated sound channel by a Dolby decoder, but the audio quality may not be one and only factor for gaming headset buying,

your gaming environment also one of a main key here, because Sharkoon X-Tatic is a wire gaming headset and if you sit very far from your TV and your gaming console, I don’t think you can use a wire gaming headset, while if you sit very close to your console and monitor while bother buy a virtual wireless gaming headset like X42 ?
